North Lindsey

Events : North Lindsey u3a meets every third Wednesday of the month at Scawby Village Hall.

The meeting usually starts at 10.00am with tea/coffee and biscuits served before and then we welcome a guest speaker at 10.30am.

Guests are welcome to come along and try North Lindsey u3a and meet the members for the first time before deciding to join. Entry for all is £2.

18 Feb – Adventures in Voice-over – Liz Drury
A voice-over artist talks about her career that started in America.

18 March – Philip, a Prince Like No Other – Keith Hanson
The life and times of Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.
Although in the shadow of the late Queen Elizabeth, he managed to forge a path in his own inimitable style.
We uncover his background and why he was so well regarded.

15 April – Carers and Services on Offer – Rosa Torraca
A talk by one of our local team from Brigg Carers Support.
It should be an interesting and educational view into all the services provided to Carers in North and North East Lincolnshire.

20 May – Driving Instructor – It’s Hell on Wheels - Stephen Brown
Stephen is going to relate some of the funny stories about his time as a Driving Instructor which he has done for the last 40 years.
It is a very entertaining and yet educational talk which is very enjoyable.

17 June – Tales of the Brothers Grimm - Alastair Littlewood

15 July – Having Fun with Folk – Alan Bolt
Singalong with a bit of a laugh. Folk, Country, 50s, 60s.
In the past Alan has worked on Radio 2 and regional radio stations.

16 Sept – A Forgotten Artist (with a Lincolnshire connection) – Horace Liberty
An illustrated talk on the life and work of the artist, John Hassall, who designed the ‘Jolly Fisherman’ for Skegness.
